LAHORE: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam on Friday said that the team will try to present its best performance against New Zealand.
“We can only give our best and leave the rest to Allah (SWT). Our record against New Zealand is quite good and players are enthusiastic about the upcoming tour,” Babar Azam said while addressing a press conference in Lahore.
To a query, he said groupings did not exist in Pakistan team. We all become happy on seeing each other’s performance, he said. Our team’s batting and bowling both were over-the-top, he maintained.
He said pressure was found everywhere and he loved playing in such a condition. Challenges kept falling on you and you have to accept them, he said.
“Being a captain, I have no pressure. The team management has given me confidence and asked me to play my natural game and I will not be replaced after just one failure,” he said.
The Pakistani captain said every new series was a new challenge as you had to face fresh players and unexplored talent.
“I believe that our team is head-to-head competent enough and continuous playing improves ones skills,” he said.
Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the 35-member squad at the Gaddafi Stadium for the tour of New Zealand.
According to sources, the 20-member support staff will also visit New Zealand. The team will leave for New Zealand on November 23 and will spend 15 days in quarantine there.
