“Will counter disinformation with information,” US responds to Imran Khan

In a press briefing, while commenting on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s persistent claim of a US conspiracy to oust him from the premier’s office, State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said: “What we can do is counter disinformation, misinformation with information.”

Ned Price said that the US State Department has repeatedly rejected such claims because there was no truth in the allegations.

He made it clear that, “we will not allow propaganda, we will not allow false and misleading information to come in the way of important bilateral relations including valuable bilateral partnership with Pakistan”.

“We value the long-standing cooperation between America and Pakistan, we have always considered a prosperous and democratic Pakistan as important for our interests and our opinion in this regard remains intact,” he added.

In response to another question, Ned Price said that the general elections in Pakistan have not been announced yet, but US support the peaceful conduct of constitutional and democratic elections not only in Pakistan, but in the whole world.

US State Department has repeatedly rejected the claims of US involvement in toppling the PTI government.
