Why Muzamil Hasan, Shehzad Ghias trending on Twitter?

In a viral clip from a podcast, content creators Syed Muzamil Hasan Zaidi and Shehzad Ghias addressed their elite “criticism”, stirring up the virtual world with what they think is categorised as middle class.

A whole new debate started on Twitter when Youtuber Syed Muzamil Hasan shared what it means to be a middle class on Shehzad Ghias’ podcast The Pakistan Experience.

Digital content creator, Shehzad Ghias shared a clip from his podcast titled “Is Syed Muzamil Hasan Zaidi elite”? Then the two of them started arguing and each tried to defend himself against the “elite” classification.

Hasan claimed that he is in a better position now as a result of upward social mobility, but he grew up middle class, wearing hand-me-downs and using the same automobile for 18 years. Then Ghias digs at Hasan for his academic background, a Corolla picking him up from school, and his trip to the US.

As the clip circulates online, social media users question their own social standing after the well-off content creators called themselves middle class.

Just found out today that middle class kids in Pakistan go on vacations in the US in 9th Grade. So which class does the rest of us belong to 😭😭😭

And the “I am middle class” debate starts up again. Most of you are elite or upper middle class whether you own a Corolla or a Sportage. The real middle class can’t even get their kids into decent schools these days and have no time for twitter.

Just saw a tiktok where this guy is arguing with another that he is middle class. His proof is that the first time he travelled abroad was as late as 9th grade. He went to the states.
Our elite is so dumb, just because you guys aint Mian Mansha doesnt mean you are middle class

bhai if u elite guys want to be middleclass so badly apni corolla, DHA ka ghar aur generational wealth mere naam pe kardo pls

— Anas Tipu (@teepusahab) November 30, 2022

in a country where people make less than $1 per day; owning a corolla, going to the US on your own, studying in LUMS and beaconhouse makes you…. *checks note* …. middle class????
