“Why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”
The education activist, Malala Yousufzai got featured in British Vogue’s July 2021 cover, the magazine.
The BritishVogue has published an interview of Malala, titled “I Know The Power A Young Girl Carries In Her Heart : The Extraordinary Life Of Malala”, in which she shared her stance on marriage and relationships.
The interview got published on their website after Malala’s latest shoot for British Vogue Magazine cover photo.
The published interview reads: “Malala’s parents had an ‘arranged love marriage’, as she describes it – they liked the look of each other, and their parents worked out the rest. She isn’t sure if she’ll ever marry herself. “
Malala went on making a statement regarding marriage and said: “I still don’t understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”
“I just thought, ‘I’m never going to get married, never going to have kids – just going to do my work. I’m going to be happy and live with my family forever’,” said Malala.
She further revealed that her father receives marriage proposals for her by prospective suitors in Pakistan.
