WHO warns about severity of new pandemic

UNITED NATIONS: The head of World Health Organisation Emergencies Program, Dr Mike Ryan, in a press briefing, said that coronavirus has reached and affected every part of the world.

“But this is not necessarily the big one,” he added, “The COVID-19 virus is very transmissible and it kills people, yet its current fatality is reasonably low in comparison to other emerging diseases. So, this is a wake-up call”, said Dr Ryan.

On Monday, the World Health Organization has warned that the world should gear up for the new pandemic as it could be more hazardous than before.

Furthermore, the chief of WHO Tedros Adhanom believes that the new corona virus variant has been detected in UK and South Africa due to the epidemiological studies in laboratories.
