WHO calls for boosting production of medical equipment to fight coronavirus

The World Health Organization (WHO) has called for stepped-up production of medical equipment and supplies to effectively fight the coronavirus pandemic.

WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus while talking to journalists in Geneva said that he had spoken to trade ministers of the G-20 countries about ways to address the shortage of personal protective equipment and other essential medical supplies.

He called on countries to work with companies to increase production, to ensure the free movement of essential health products and their equitable distribution.
