What a brilliant performance! Multan Sultan trounced Karachi Kings

Karachi: Multan Sultan defeated Karachi Kings by 6 wickets after a hard-fought match. Multan Sultan won the opening match of the PSL 7 in Mohammad Rizwan’s skippership.
In pursuit of the target, Sultans openers Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood batted aggressively after defensive style in the first two overs and gave the team a good start.
Both the players gave the team a start of 38 runs but on the same score Shan Masood gave the wicket on the ball of Eliasson. After that, Shoaib Maqsood came to support Rizwan and both of them formed a partnership of 61 runs and continued to advance successfully towards the target.
Shoaib Maqsood made 30 runs off 31 balls and got stumped against Mohammad Nabi and in the same over Nabi also made Rilee Rossouw move. However, captain Rizwan at the other end continued his excellent batting and scored a half century while maintaining excellent form.
Tim David hit a six to Mohammad Nabi to lead his team to victory with 10 balls to spare. Mohammad Rizwan played a brilliant innings of 52 runs.
In the opening match of the event being played at the National Stadium, Muhammad Rizwan won the toss and invited the Karachi Kings to bat. Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan started the innings confidently, playing a responsible game.
Both the players batted well and gave the team a 66-run lead. Sharjeel Khan adopted the traditional offensive style but captain Babar continued to struggle. The Sultans got their first victory when Sharjeel Khan was bowled out for 43 off 31 balls with three sixes and three fours.
The Kings had not yet recovered from the loss when Babar’s innings came to an end in an attempt to hit a six to Khushdal Shah. Babar scored 23 off 29 balls.
Mohammad Nabi and Clarke added 32 runs for the third wicket but Imran Tahir bowled out Mohammad Nabi to 103 runs. Imran Tahir gave another victory to Multan Sultans in the 17th over when the wickets of newcomer Tom Lammonby were blown away after adding just one run.
Clarke tried to lead the team to a good score but his effort came to an end on the fifth ball of the 18th over and he scored 26 runs and became the wicket of Shahnawaz Dhani.
Karachi Kings scored 124 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated overs. Imran Tahir bowled brilliantly and took three wickets for 16 runs.
