ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that the western world succeeded by adopting the golden rules of Islamic society.
“The countries which we call non-believers, there live true people. Unfortunately, we have distanced ourselves from veracity of Islam,” said PM Imran Khan while addressing the Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad.
He said history was witness that people converted to Islam by seeing actions of Muslims. He said his government was striving to make Pakistan an ‘Islamic welfare state’.
The prime minister said that the West did not understand Islam because it had linked terrorism with it. We should have told the westerners that Islam had nothing to do with terrorism, he said.
“In every society, there is a group of extremists, while moderate people are always in abundance. Media in the west started implicating as if suicide bombers were production of Islam. Whereas, before 9/11 most of the suicide bombings were carried out by Tamil Tigers, who are Hindus. Even before that Japanese adopted this method during the world war,” he said.
Imran Khan said our national leaders should have apprised the world leaders about all the propaganda as well as our love for the Prophet Muhammed (SAWW).
He said the blasphemy in the name of freedom of speech should be stopped. He said hurting the sentiments of Jews was not allowed in the West, so they should understand that Muslims also get hurt because of their hate-mongering against them.
“Nobody in the west talks against Jews or even Israel. Those who do so they are labelled as anti-semites. Four countries sentence those to imprisonment who talk against Jews,” he said.
PM Imran said that the freedom of speech did not mean that you start hate speech against a group of people.
