Were dead animals served at Lahore’s famous Butt Karahi?
Famous Butt Karahi restaurant of Lahore has been sealed. Initially there were murky reports about what led to closure of the eatery. Some reports suggested that it was sealed for serving dead animals meat to customers.
A twitterite, Uzair Younus posted a picture of a news claiming that “Lahore’s Famous Butt Karahi Sealed for Serving Dead Animals ”. The post was quoted by deputy commissioner Lahore and he issued clarification that the assistant commissioner of the city sealed it because of violation of coronavirus standard operating procedures, not due to serving dead animal.
AC City Faizan Ahmed had sealed the restaurant for allowing people to dine-in after the time limit had ended. Manager of Butt Karahi was also arrested. The eatery was earlier sealed about nine months ago for the same reason.
Seventy eight more deaths due to Coronavirus infection and 2,580 positive cases have been reported in Pakistan in a single day.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) statistics, the death toll raised to 26,865.
47,419 tests were conducted on Monday and positivity ratio remained five point four four per cent.
Meanwhile, the NCOC has announced that indoor dining will remain prohibited and outdoor dining will be allowed till 12:00 am.
The additional restrictions imposed by the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government in 24 districts have been lifted from 18 districts, while the restrictions would remain so in six districts including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Multan, Bannu and Sargodha, said the National Command and Operation Center chief Asad Umar in a press conference.
