Wedding dress worth 1.5 crore of Saqib Nisar’s daughter-in-law made by Indian designer
ISLAMABAD: Former chief justice Saqib Nisar’s son recently tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony in Islamabad. The event was attended by a large number of prominent people including TV celebrities.
Local media has reported that 11 senior judges including Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed were also present on this auspicious occasion to congratulate Najam Saqib. Najam’s spouse had reportedly ordered her dress to famous Indian designer Anita Dongre.
Videos and pictures of the spendthrift event have gone viral on social media and left people flabbergasted as they were not expecting it from the ex-top judge of Pakistan for his being vocal to point out matters of common public’s interest and support for the austerity campaign. He had also ran a campaign and motivated the nation to donate massively for the Diamer-Bhasha dams to safeguard the future of the country.
Saqib Nisar served as the chief justice from Dec 2016 to Jan 2019. He had always been in the limelight for his remarks, campaign, surprise visits to public hospitals and other places and controversies surrounding him. He had collected around 10 billion Pakistani rupees for the dams after the nation faced water shortage. People were expecting from him to continue working for the water shortage, but he was never seen anywhere after retirement.
