Weather turns pleasant as Karachi receives heavy rain with thunderstorm
The city’s weather turned pleasant after heavy rain with thunderstorm hit different areas of Karachi on Wednesday during the fourth spell of monsoon.
The weather in Karachi remained warn throughout the morning and heavy rain with thunderstorm started in the evening.
Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Scheme 33, Malir, Quaidabad, Bin Qasim, Korangi, Landhi, Clifton, Defence, I.I. Chundrigar Road, MT Khan Road, Keemari, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, among other areas of the city, received light to moderate downpours.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had said that under the influence of the new monsoon system, heavy rain with thunderstorms were expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, and areas of Balochistan today till August 14.
The PMD has also advised authorities concerned to take precautionary measures in the wake of torrential rains in Sindh, Balochistan and South Punjab this week.
The Met Office forecast that the sea conditions will remain rough for the next two-three days, advising the fishermen of Balochistan and Sindh to avoid the sea till August 14.
Heavy rain in the metropolis may continue till August 14, during which there may be severe flooding in the sea.
