We want investments from our Chinese friends, not handouts, says PM Shahbaz

The Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that we do no need financial aid and written conditions to deal with the problems facing the country but we need the investments of our Chinese friends.
Talking to representatives of Chinese investment companies in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan-China friendship is the oldest friendship in the region, China is our true and reliable friend and standing firm with Pakistan in every difficult time.
“I think the friendship between Pakistan and China is deep and strong and it is as sweet as honey. This friendship has not faltered even in storms, earthquakes and floods and has become stronger with each passing moment,” he said.
The Premier said that he was fortunate to have met Chinese investors to convey the message that Pakistan seeks China’s cooperation in all fields.
He further said that China has made progress in every field, including IT, trade and all sectors, lifting millions out of poverty and increasing productivity by implementing reforms in agricultural laws.
Prime Minister stated that China is the model that Pakistan needs to follow, it will lead Pakistan towards innovation, it is easy to say but difficult to act but we are determined to meet the challenges.
“We do not need financial aid, written terms and assistance to deal with these difficulties, but we need the help of Chinese friends to help us in investing, importing, exporting and developing our skills,” he added.
“Let China help us and tell us how agricultural development is possible, how industrial production can be improved, how to generate electricity from solar and hydro parks instead of expensive fuels,” he said.
Thanking the Chinese leadership, the Prime Minister said that CPEC is an important tool to take Pakistan forward, adding that, without CPEC, we would have had a difficult time but we are grateful to President Xi Jinping and China for that.
