‘We have to increase petrol prices in future,’ PM Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced the relief package worth Rs 120 billion on Wednesday (today). At least 13 million citizens of Pakistan will benefit from the package. But Prime Minister also warned about the increase in petrol prices in the upcoming future.
The relief package has been announced under the Ehsas program. According to the package, the price of flour, ghee, and lentils will be provided to the deserving citizens at a 30 % discount for the next six months.
Prime Minister also announced that under the Kamyab Program scheme, 4 million families will get loans without any sort of interest. Imran Khan also went on to say that small businessmen and farmers will get loans up to five lakhs which they have to repay without any interest.
The premier also mentioned that without the financial support from Saudi Arabia and China, the economy of Pakistan would have crumbled. Pakistan was applauded for its efforts by the world about the dealing of Covid-19 along with the management of the economy.

Prime Minister Imran Khan mentioned that the current government provided relief to the citizens by not slapping big taxes on the petrol if the administration did that they would have received 450 billion in revenue but the government thought of providing relief to the citizens.
However, Prime Minister indicated that the petrol prices will increase in the future as the petrol prices in the global market have gone up by 100 % while in Pakistan just 30 %. The Premier also compared the petrol price of India and Bangladesh with Pakistan’s fuel prices and said that they are the cheapest in the region.
Concluding the address to the nation, Prime Minister said that the two families have looted Pakistan for 30 years if they even bring half of the looted money back in the country, the government will reduce the prices of food by half.
