Most areas including II Chandragar Road, Burns Road, Saddar, Kharadar, Lions Area, Tower, Malir, Defense and Clifton have accumulated several feet of rainwater so far.

During the torrential rains, the administration did not see any servants on the roads, which caused problems for the citizens.

The Pakistan Army is conducting a rescue operation in the city and evacuating civilians from several areas to safer places. Army has set up a Flood Emergency Control Center.

The Sindh government has declared a public holiday in the province, including Karachi, on Friday, August 28, in view of emergency measures. Rain is forecast in Karachi even today.

Rains in Karachi have so far killed 24 people in various accidents, while water has flooded homes and damaged property.

Electricity supply has been suspended due to the accumulation of rainwater in most parts of the city. Some areas have been without power for the past 24 hours.
