Watch: Doors of Holy Kaaba opened for COAS Gen Asim Munir, his family
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Sunday visited Makkah to perform Umrah where the doors of the Holy Kaaba were opened for him and his family.
In a viral video posted, Gen Asim Munir could be seen walking out of the Holy Kaaba with family members and Grand Mosques’ security staff.
It was reported that the doors of the Holy Kaaba were opened for the Army Chief in a display of extraordinary hospitality. Gen Munir offered prayers inside Holy Kaaba.
Earlier today, General Syed Asim Munir met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman during his visit to the Kingdom.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Mohammed bin Salman today (Monday) welcomed the Army Chief Gen Asim Munir in the winter camp set up in Al-Ula area of Madinah.
The state news agency reported that the reception was also attended by Saudi Arabia’s Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman and National Security Adviser Dr Musaed bin Muhammad al Aiban.
The two leaders “reviewed bilateral relations and the ways of enhancing them” during the meeting.
COAS General Syed Asim Munir is on a week-long official visit to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the first time after assuming the office of Pakistan’s army chief.
