Wasim Akram becomes Kashmir Premier League’s vice president

The former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has been appointed as vice president of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL).
Wasim Akram has picked up 414 wickets in 104 Tests and 502 wickets in 356 ODIs.
“I have joined Kashmir Premier League (KPL) as its vice president. This league’s idea is to develop the grassroots of Pakistan cricket and to provide young generation the opportunities to play cricket so that it furnishes them to the extent where they would be able to play for Pakistan,” said Wasim Akram in a video message.
He further added that, “I wish all the youngsters all the best. See you soon. insha Allah in the KPL.”
The Kashmir Premier League (KPL) will start from 1st April. There will be a total of six teams, while players will be picked through a draft. Each team will have five local Kashmiri players in the squad and they will play with Pakistan’s international stars.
Moreover, the six teams are named as: Rawalakot Hawks, Bagh Stallions, Muzaffarabad Tigers, Mirpur Royals, Kotli Panthers and Overseas Warriors.
