Prices of vegetables have risen in Faisalabad causing worry for the residents.
Bitter gourd costs Rs400 per kg now, a price of one-kilo lady finger costs Rs300, ginger costs Rs500 per kg and the price of a 1kg of capiscum has risen by Rs150.
The residents say that the sellers increase and decrease the prices at their own accord. “They do not have a set price list and everything is so expensive,” said a buyer.
Meanwhile, the sellers blame the price hike on vegetables arriving from Sindh. “The vegetables that we receive from Sindh are expensive because of the distance,” one of the sellers said. “The rest of the vegetables are sold at the same price,” he added.
The people of Faislabad are demanding the decrease in prices and for the government to help facilitate the residents.
