‘Valid demands of PPDA will be accepted,’ says Energy Minister

Energy Minister Hammad Azhar in a statement on Thursday (today) has said that government is ready to accept the “valid demands” of PPDA.

Hammad Azhar said that there are certain groups who want an increase of Rs9 which cannot be allowed.

Energy Minister further added that the summary of the increase in profit margins is already sent to Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) which will soon be addressed in the upcoming meeting which will resolve the issues.

PPDA was encouraged by Hammad Azhar to take back strike call as the citizens of Pakistan are suffering from the shortage of fuel supply.

Earlier, Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) announced a strike call for an indefinite period until the government increase the profit margin to six %.

After the strike call for November 25, citizens rushed to petrol pumps yesterday’s night to get their hands on the fuel, as they try to keep their tank filled up for upcoming days.

Some of the petrol pumps are still operating amid strike calls.
