Sindh Rangers had arrested Uzair Baloch on Jan 30, 2016. He has confessed to committing heinous crimes including murders, land encroachment, illegally occupying sugar mills, extortion and trading or arms.

In Apr 2017, he was handed over to the Pakistan Army after he was accused of spying for foreign spy agencies. After three years, he was handed over to police on Apr 6, 2020.

On Jul 7, Federal Maritime Affairs Minister Syed Ali Haider Zaidi had said that the Joint Investigation Report (JIT) of Lyari Gang War ringleader Uzair Baloch issued by the Sindh government was incomplete and it was missing names of six important Pakistan Peoples Party leaders.

“The JIT report issued by the Sindh government comprised of 35 pages only, while the original report had more pages in it,” Ali Zaidi had said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad. He was flanked by Information Minister Shibli Faraz on this occasion.

The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf leader had said Abdul Qadir Patel tasked Uzair Baloch to kill Jaleel, brother of Razzq Commando, because he killed Abdul Qadir Patel’s coordinator.

According to the original JIT, Owais Muzaffar and Sharjeel Memon used to supervise gangsters after resignation of Zulfiqar Mirza, he had said.
