Uzair Baloch denies committing any murder

KARACHI: In front of the court, Lyari Gang War leader Uzair Baloch on Monday denied all allegations of murder on him.

Uzair Baloch is accused of killing 198 people including Arshad Pappu, eleven shop owners of Shershah market and several police officials.

While he was produced before an anti-terrorism court in Karachi, he also denied recording any confessional statement. He said the judicial magistrate must be mistaken. He swore to God that he did not commit any murder.

The prosecution counsel did not attend the hearing. The ATC has adjourned the hearing till end of July.

Sindh Rangers had arrested Uzair Baloch on Jan 30, 2016. He has confessed to committing heinous crimes including murders, land encroachment, illegally occupying sugar mills, extortion and trading or arms.

In Apr 2017, he was handed over to the Pakistan Army after he was accused of spying for foreign spy agencies. After three years, he was handed over to police on Apr 6, 2020.

On Jul 7, Federal Maritime Affairs Minister Syed Ali Haider Zaidi had said that the Joint Investigation Report (JIT) of Lyari Gang War ringleader Uzair Baloch issued by the Sindh government was incomplete and it was missing names of six important Pakistan Peoples Party leaders.
