The United States (US) has imposed sanctions on companies in Iran for doing business with Iran Shipping Line and on three Iranian entities over conventional arms proliferation, in the final days of US President Donald Trump’s term before it ends on Jan 20.
Moreover, the sanctions have also been imposed on China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to the US secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, seven companies along with Chinese-based Jiangyin Mascot Special Steel Co and UAE-based Accenture Building Materials, and two people for trading steel in Iran, have been sanctioned by Washington.
The Marine Industries Organization, Aerospace Industries Organization and the Iran Aviation Industries Organizations of Iran have been banned for proliferation of conventional arms, revealed Pompeo.
Trump initiated to have a word with Tehran again over its nuclear and ballistic missile programs and its activities in the Middle East. Saying the agreement did not go far enough.
Furthermore, in 2018, Trump annulled a nuclear deal with Iran, which Tehran struck with world powers in 2015 to rein in its nuclear program in return for sanctions relief.
