The United States and India failed to sign a trade deal during President Donald Trump’s visit to New Delhi.
Speaking at the New Delhi news conference, President Trump said that his country needs to be treated fairly and India acknowledges that.
He said if it is possible, they will come to an agreement by the end of the year.
“If the deal happens with India it will be at the end of this year and if it doesn’t happen then we will do something else,” he told reporters as the visit ended.
The deal’s objective was to bridge the US trade deficit of $25 billion dollars.
The US president arrived in India on a two-day official visit together with First Lady Melania Trump on Monday.
