US Food and Drug Administration’s advisory panel recommended the use of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine against coronavirus on Thursday.
The agency’s advisory panel voted 17-4 with one member remained absent, in the favor of emergency use of the vaccine in the country most affected by the outbreak, which has already killed its 300,000 people.
Britain also started its vaccination drive earlier this week. However, those who received the jab suffered minor complications like allergic reactions while the participants of US voluntary trials also faced some issues. According to health officials, the real causes behind these side effects could not be properly identified yet.
The US would be the third country in the world to approve the vaccine for mass immunization, after UK and Canada.
