PESHAWAR: Unknown assailants have shot dead a key Afghan Taliban commander in Peshawar.
According to Afghan local media, the incident of murder of Naik Muhammed Rehbar took place on Monday evening. He was considered to be an important commander of Afghan Taliban and was head of the warfare in Nangarhar province.
Naik Muhammed belonged to Khogiani caste of Nangarhar and he was active in the districts of Surkhrood, Khogiani and Sherzad.
No militant organization has claimed responsibility for the attack so far, however Daesh/ IS has earlier claimed responsibility for such killings of Taliban leaders in Peshawar and Quetta.
Taliban has not officially confirmed the incident, however the social media accounts related to them have confirmed the happening.
