LAHORE: Weary of unemployment and illness, a man on Wednesday night climbed an electricity transmission tower to commit suicide in Lahore.

It took more than one hour to people and rescue workers to convince Amjad that it was not the right way to get rid of his problems and get down from the high-voltage electricity pole.

While on the transmission tower, the resident of Lohari area in Lahore kept smoking cigarette and was seen continuously busy with somebody on phone call.

Rescue 1122 officials helped him get down from the high-voltage tower with the help of snorkel fire truck.
