UK to ban travel from Pakistan, three other countries from April 9

British authorities on Friday have announced that Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Kenya will be placed on the UK’s travel red list after which people arriving from these countries will not be allowed to enter unless they are British or Irish nationals.

According to media reports, the travel ban has been announced due to COVID-19 concerns.

“UK and Irish nationals and those with UK residence rights travelling from those countries will have to quarantine in hotels for 10 days,” British High Commissioner to Pakistan Chris Turner says in a video message.

There are already more than thirty countries that have been placed on the red list earlier which are mainly in Africa, the Middle East and South America.
