Only monthly expenditures of Altaf’s house plus settlement payment make about £50,000 per month, this excludes the salary paid to the staff working at his London officer for more than 20 years.
Altaf Hussain, through his lawyer, argued that his expenditures were being paid through the donations received by him from home and abroad, therefore he was not entitled to pay the taxes. While, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) believes that he himself was responsible for paying the taxes.
