UK firm claims bribe offered for stopping inquiry into Nawaz Sharif’s foreign assets

LONDON: A UK-based asset-recovery firm, Broadsheet has revealed that a relative of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has offered them bribe to abandon the investigation against his foreign assets.
The Chief Executive Officer of Broadsheet, Kaveh Mousavvi spoke during an online interview about denying the deal offered by Nawaz Sharif’s nephew in 2012.
Moreover, the Sharif family has assets across the globe, not only in the United Kingdom (UK), he said.
Answering a question regarding a verdict of the London High Court, Mousavvi claimed that the court had not exonerated the Sharif’s family in accusations related to Avenefield apartment.
The company was carrying out an investigation to find that how hundreds of millions of dollars had been smuggled from Pakistan to abroad.
