Two policemen shot dead in Lower Dir

On Wednesday morning, two policemen were killed after unidentified men shot then in Lower Dir’s Markhani village.
The policemen identified as Constable Farmanullah and Mukarram Khan, were a special member of the special police force and were appointed to provide security to a polio team. According to reports, the policemen were on their way to meet the polio team when they were attacked.

The policemen, who were posted at the Lal Qila police station, were travelling on a motorcycle when they stopped their vehicle on the bridge near the village. The attackers then opened fire at them and they died on the spot, according to the police. The suspects managed to escape.

The police have sealed off the area and conducting raids to arrest the suspected. They say no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The dead bodies of the demise have been sifted to DHQ Hospital Timergara.
On December 16, Deputy Commissioner Saadat Hassan had inaugurated the anti-polio drive in Lower Dir. For that, seventy polio teams were formed to administer anti-polio drops to 307,254 children during the drive.
