The Punjab Department of Health has verified that two PIA pilots have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to sources.
The pilots arrived Saturday from Toronto in Lahore. According to the health department, they have been trapped in Toronto for the past few days among five people.
They were both admitted to a private hospital isolation unit, officials said.
The known coronavirus tally for Punjab has passed 1,380 and the tally for Pakistan is 3,110.
PIA recently, at the behest of the Canadian Government, sent two special flights to Toronto from Karachi and Lahore.
PIA grounded flights from Karachi on Sunday on suspicion that the virus was contracted by four pilots who had arrived from London. They have all tested negative, however.
