Two killed, several wounded in Quetta blast

QUETTA: At least two people were killed and more than 10 others wounded on Tuesday in a bomb blast near Lady Dufferin Hospital in Quetta.
The blast apparently targeted a vehicle of security personnel on McConaughey Road. The dead and injured have been shifted to the hospital for autopsy and medical treatment respectively.
Police and other security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search for the suspects. The cause and nature of the blast could not be ascertained till filing of this report.

Condemning the incident, Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langove said hostile elements were trying to sabotage the peace in the province.




On Nov 29 last year, at least 10 people were injured in a bomb blast near Chauburji in Lahore.
The bomb contained two kilogram explosive materials and was planted in a rickshaw. Confirming that it was not a cylinder blast, the bomb disposal squad had said that they had found ball bearings from the site of the incident which were used in making the bomb.
