Two friends from across the border reunite after 74 years at Kartarpur Corridor

After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, we hear many stories of families migrating leaving everything behind. Many friends bid farewell to each other and then never meet again. But there is an unusual story of Sardar Gopal Singh and Muhammad Bashir who have reunited after 74 years.
Kartarpur Corridor was reopened last week on the occasion of the 552nd birthday anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak. Many pilgrims from the Indian side came to Pakistan via the corridor to celebrate the birthday of the Sikh religion founder.
Sardar Gopal Singh of India aged 94 came to Kartarpur Corridor while Muhammad Bashir aged 91 also visited the place. To everyone’s surprise, the old friends met after long 74 years.
