Two female judges of Afghanistan’s Supreme Court assassinated in Kabul

KABUL: Armed assailants ambushed and killed two female judges of Afghanistan’s Supreme Court in Kabul, while they were travelling in a court vehicle to reach their offices.

Driver of the judges got wounded in the attack and he was shifted to hospital for medical assistance.

No one has taken responsibility for the assassination. Taliban said their fighters were not involved in the attack.

Pakistan has condemned the dastardly act of targeted assassination of two female judges in Kabul.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri also extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. 

He said that Pakistan had repeatedly urged for reduction in violence and a ceasefire in Afghanistan and we urge upon all parties to accelerate the peace process.

The spokesperson said Pakistan had also emphasized the need to be vigilant against the spoilers of the Afghan peace process.
