Two die in celebratory aerial firing after Pakistan thrash Afghanistan in Asia Cup
At least two people were killed in aerial firing in Peshawar amidst celebrations over Pakistan’s victory in a match against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022.
According to the police, a man named Sudais died on the spot due to bullet injury in Mattani Addezai area of Peshawar. Another person Khayyam also lost his life due to aerial firing in Matni.
According to the police, 3 women were injured in aerial firing in Dalazak Road, Nothiya and Kotla Mohsin Khan.
Police said that aerial firing was reported in the jurisdiction of different police stations across the city, and police have detained 41 people involved in aerial firing.
On the other hand, the relatives of the deceased persons said that an operation should be conducted against illegal weapons throughout the city.
Yesterday, Pakistan qualified for the Twenty20 Asia Cup final by defeating Afghanistan by one wicket after a nail biting match in the Super Four stage.
