Two children die as wall collapses in Karachi due to rain

Two children died while three others were injured in two separate incidents of walls collapsing due to rain in Karachi.
According to police, hospital and rescue officials, two children were died and three others were injured in rain-related accidents in Karachi.
Jamshed Quarter Superintendent of Police (SP) Capt. Saddam Hussain said that while some children were playing in the street in Ashraf Colony area of Mahmoodabad, a seemingly weak wall collapsed due to rain and four children were stuck under the rubble. The children were taken to Jinnah Hospital where the deaths of two children were confirmed.
The deceased were identified as 13-year-old Dilip Kumar and Piyush Shambo, while the injured children were identified as Rahul and Gato.
Police Surgeon Dr Samia Syed said that an autopsy was conducted on Dilip Kumar who died due to injuries caused by the collapse of the wall while the relatives of the other child did not allow the doctors to take legal action.
Dr Samia Syed said that a 3-year-old boy who was seriously injured when the roof of his house collapsed near Zamindar Hotel near Gulistan-e-Johar Kamran Chowrangi has been brought to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center for medical treatment.
After a day of intense heat in Karachi, heavy rains along with strong winds started blowing in the northern part of the city which spread to the entire city while several power feeders tripped in different areas.
Areas that received pre-monsoon rainfall include Bahria Town, Super Highway, Gadap, Malir, Airport, Sharah-e-Faisal, Nursery, Korangi and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
