Two brothers arrested for killing sister in name of honor
The decomposed body of a 30-year-old woman was recovered from her house in Future Colony, Landhi area of Karachi, while the police claimed that the woman was allegedly killed by her brothers in the name of so-called honor.
Sharif Goth police said that the 25-day-old body of Samira Iftikhar was recovered from her house, she was stabbed to death with a heavy tool and her body showed signs of torture.
SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur said that the woman was killed in the name of so-called honor allegedly by her brother.
The police arrested the two brothers of the deceased on the charge of involvement in the murder and recovered the alleged murder weapon.
The police detained victim’s brothers Yasir, 27, and Waqas, 22, who during preliminary investigation had ‘confessed’ to killing their sister in the name of so-called honor.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center (JPMC) for completion of legal formalities.
SSP Malir said that the victim’s father came to Sharif Goth police station on Monday night and informed the police that his daughter was missing for a long time.
Later, when he went home found the dead body of his daughter.
The police have registered a case of murder against the arrested brothers.
