Turkey to impose curfew on weekends amid coronavirus surge

Turkey will now observe curfew over the weekend after coronavirus cases have surged all over the country.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that we are going through a worrying situation in coronavirus. The number of coronary cases and deaths has risen alarmingly.

Erdogan further said that curfew will be enforced from 8 pm to 10 am from this weekend. In Turkey, all schools will be closed and online education will continue until the end of the year, while those under the age of 20 and those over the age of 65 will be barred from going out.

Cafes and restaurants will be closed while home delivery will be allowed. Sports events will also continue without any spectators.
