TTP threatens Aurat March organisers, says “fix your ways”

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has threatened the organisers of Aurat March and accused them of committing blasphemy and obscenity.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban stated, “We want to send a message to those organisations who are actively spreading obscenity and vulgarity in our beloved Pakistan.”

“Fix your ways, there are still many young Muslims here who know how to protect Islam and the boundaries set by Allah,” TTP further added.

However, the security expert at the National Defence University in Washington, Hassan Abbas, said the TTP statement should be taken seriously by the security agencies.

The Aurat March was accused by many people for carrying out anti-Islamic slogans. The videos were altered with wrong subtitles and the accusation of carrying France flag was later found to be false as well as the flag was of he Women’s Democratic Front, a leftist group founded in 2018 and one of the organisers of the march said their flag – with red, white and purple stripes – had been misrepresented as the French flag, which has blue, white and red stripes.
