Thousands of supporters of the incumbent US President Donald Trump invaded the US Capitol on Wednesday clashing with security forces. As a result of riots one woman was shot and killed.
Far-Right and Pro-Trump mob attacked the Capitol building when the US Congressmen were present inside to formally approve the results of 2020 presidential race. The representatives had to hide themselves while security officials engaged in controlling the mob.
Washington’s Mayor Muriel Bowser imposed a curfew and advised the citizens to stay at homes.
After his defeat in the presidential election, Trump has been continuously calling out the victory of his rival candidate and the president-elect Joe Biden as “controversial” and “disputed”. As a consequence of intensifying situation Joe Biden has condemned Trump for stoking violence in the country in a televised speech.
Later on Trump also posted a series of messages on Twitter advising his supporters to ”remain peaceful” with one of his video-message being deleted by social media authorities (such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube) for the violation of standards.
