 Transgender shot dead during music programme in Mardan

MARDAN: A transgender was shot dead during a dance and music programme in Siri Bahlul area of Mardan district.

Police on Friday said that the firing was opened by organisers of the dance party. Transgender Mubashar Syed alias Kalji died on the spot after receiving bullet injuries.

Residents of the area had demanded from the organisers to stop the programme and when the music was stopped, people started leaving the event in groups, meanwhile firing was opened by the organisers. The suspects fled from the scene following the incident.

A case has been registered against three suspects at Saroo Shah police station in Mardan.
