Transgender Rachel Levine set to be Biden’s assistant health secretary
The Unites States president-elect Joe Biden has designated a transgender, Rachel Levine as his assistant secretary of health. The US senate confirmed Rachel as the first transgender official.
Rachel Levine was appointed as Pennsylvania Health Secretary by Democratic government in 2017 leaving her to be among the very few transgender people who have been elected for national positions.
According to Joe Biden, Rachel will work to endorse better leadership along with working on expertise to help people get through this pandemic without any biases.
Moreover, the vice-president elect, Kamala Haris considers Levine as a notable public servant due to her knowledge and experience that she used to create health strategies during the pandemic.
