Tram service to be run in Karachi with help of Turkey: commissioner
KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani on Monday said tram service will be run in Karachi with assistance of Turkey.
He said this while addressing a third ‘Jadeed Pakistan Conference 2020’ organized by the Youth Parliament in Karachi.
“Only those cities having good infrastructure are getting developed across the world,” he said.
On Nov 19, the Karachi Circular Railway had started operation, after Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed inaugurated the project in Karachi.
Addressing the inaugural event, Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had said the Karachi Circular Railway was initiating to operate four trains daily from Pipri to Karachi City station. The train is being run after 20 years of its standing still.
