Torkham border closed from today ‘due to COVID-19’

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Tuesday said Torkham border had been closed from Tuesday (today) for all kinds of traffic because of coronavirus.

“The decision has been taken keeping in view the directions of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC),” he wrote in a tweet.

The interior minister said Torkham Immigration Center on Pak-Afghan border would remain close till the fresh guidelines of the NCOC.

It should be noted that Torkham border was closed earlier as well in a bid to contain the flow of coronavirus cases from Afghanistan into Pakistan.
