 ‘To Jhoom’, singer opens new Pandora Box

Lahore: Well-known Sufi singers Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal’s new song ‘To Jhoom’ made a splash just a few hours after its release and when it went viral, fans of Coke Studio were forced to say that it Has returned, but Nirmala Maghani, a budding singer from Umerkot, Sindh, has opened a new Pandora box about the song. 

Season 14 of Coke Studios started on January 14 with ‘To Jhoom’ which was sung by legendary Sufi singers Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal. Co-produced with musician Abdullah Siddiqui. However, the claim of Nirmala Maghani, a singer from Umerkot, Sindh, has raised the possibility of a new controversy. 

Nirmala has claimed that one of the lyrics used in Coke Studio Season 14’s song ‘To Jhoom’ is hers which she sent to musician Zulfiqar Khan (Zulfi) in 2021. She did not get any reply from him. However, she was surprised to hear the use of this song in ‘To Jhoom’ but she was not given any credit for the song.

She further alleged that after listening to the song, Zulfiqar Khan (Zulfi) However, the next day replied on the phone that he did not even see the audio message sent to me but the reality is different because my messages sent on WhatsApp were showing blue tick (shown on WhatsApp). The blue tick indicates that the user has viewed your message.
