Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, is due to be celebrated by Muslims everywhere around the world. This year, the coronavirus pandemic has unfortunately prevented us to plan Eid the usual way and instead observe the day in lockdown. As much as it saddens us, however, there are a number of ways we can celebrate the joys of Eid while ensuring safety measures and making it a memorable Eid indeed.
Put on your best Eid outfit
Lounging around the house in comfortable attire has turned into a household norm for us, but Eid is nothing without fabulous clothes and beautiful jewelry, so dress up in your best clothes and make sure to take loads of pictures with your siblings, parents, etc. for the gram.
Pick an Eid-themed background for Zoom meetups
If you’re planning on Zooming your friends/family and wishing them a happy Eid, make sure to choose a gorgeous Eid-related theme on the background of your video call. That way, you can keep the spirit of Eid alive and catch up with your loved ones too.
Order a bunch of Eid treats for a mini- feast
Although restaurants have been hit hard by the pandemic and have closed their doors shut, many are offering takeaways and delivery. If possible, order an assortment of treats for Eid and spice them up for a mini-feast at home.
Make an Eid playlist
Assemble a soundtrack for songs you want to hear and can sing along to on the day. You can even put it as background music while you and your family munch on Eid treats.
Go wild on the decorations
Since Eid will be confined to the home this year, fill your house with Eid decorations. It can be anything from balloons, streamers, banners, or fairy lights. You can also create your own by browsing on Pinterest – the holy grail for DIY. Search up food recipes and ways to make the house look stunning and your Eid is guaranteed to be wonderful.
