Turkish actress Esra Bilgic has apparently signed a deal with Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi to become a brand ambassador of his team in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6.
Neither of them has so far made a formal public announcement in this regard, however all the indications lead to the same conclusion that the actress who shot to fame in Pakistan through Dirilis: Ertugrul series has reached an agreement with Peshawar Zalmi.
Tagging Esra, Javed Afridi tweeted, “New Beginnings.” To which the actress replied with the same comment tagging Javed and his team’s Twitter accounts.
Rumours had already started circulating when ‘Halema Sultana’ had posted a picture of Islamia College Peshawar on Jan 19 with the caption, “The City of Flowers.”
This should also be noted that Javed Afridi wanted to sign Engin Altan as his team’s brand ambassador earlier as on June 30 last year he had asked his fans if they wanted to see ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’ as Peshawar Zalmi’s brand ambassador.
It may be noted that in December 2019, the Peshawar Zalmi chairman had met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and presented a customised jersey to him.
“Knowing importance of the moment we look forward to exchanging sports diplomacy between both Pakistan and Turkey,” he had written in a tweet.
A section of our local entertainment industry has felt insecure because of Pakistani brands’ approaching Turkish artists for work and some of them have even spoken up about it. What is your opinion about this new trend? Do let us know in the comment section.
