Three terrorists including IS commander killed in Police encounter
Peshawar: Three terrorists belonging form the self-proclaimed Islamic State, including chief, were killed in an intelligence centered strike carried out by Peshawar police on Monday.
Security personnel from the Fariqabad police station received reports of the terrorists being present at the Ring Road cemetery. After storming the site the police were fired upon, in the exchange terrorists Abdullah, Suliman and Hayat were killed.
The police officials stated that all three of the slain were affiliates of the illicit Islamic state and were masterminds of several incidents of target killings of police personnel and the killing of Sikh Satnam Singh earlier in the month of September.
Moreover, the police also seized three AK-47s, several smaller firearms and explosive material form their base of operations. Besides orchestrating several killings and extortions the group is also responsible for planning different bomb attacks.
Hayat was the Islamic state commander in Peshawar and Bajaur. While Abdullah was an Afghani terrorist who also successfully managed to escape a police encounter in 2017 in the limits of Shah Pur police station. The other terrorist belonged to Bajaur and had been living in the Mohmand tribal district.
The police further stated that two other terrorists had managed to escape the operation but are hopeful that they will be tracked soon.
