Three killed, several injured in knife attack incident in France

NICE: A knife-wielding man attacked and killed three people and injured several others in France’s coastal city Nice.

The attack took place on Thursday morning at a church. Police shot and injured the assailant before shifting him to hospital for treatment. They said the scene of the incident was a ‘vision of horror’.

Nice Mayor Christian Estros said the suspect chanted ‘Allah u Akbar’ repeatedly while he was being arrested. He claimed that one of the victims was beheaded.

“We have two people killed inside the church … and a third person who was in a bar facing the church where she had taken refuge. Enough is enough … we have to remove this Islamo-fascism from our territory,” the mayor said.
