Three killed, several injured in Ghotki blast

Three people were killed and many injured because of an explosion near Ghotki railway station.

Rescue officers rushed to the spot, shifted bodies and injured hospitals to the nearby for medico-legal formalities, according to details.

Rescue officers said the three dead included two rangers, and one civilian.

Police cordoned off of the area. The bomb explosion occurred at a meat shop located near Ghotki Railway station, according to the preliminary inquiry. Police said officials at Rangers used to buy meat daily from the shop.

They added that they planted the bomb blast, and further investigations are underway.

In August last year, three children including a young girl, her teenage brother, and a cousin were killed while another child was injured as a mortar shell they were playing with exploded in Umer Shar village near Ghotki district town of Ubauro.

The ill-fated children, according to the parents, found a mortar shell while playing outside the village and it exploded when children put the shell into flames.

The blast was so serious that Bachi Shar, 20, and her 12-year-old brother Arbelo Shar died on the spot while Jam Shar, 13, later succumbed to injuries at Obaro hospital.

10-year-old Rashid Shar sustained injuries. Rounti police have said the investigation is ongoing and no case has so far been registered.
