KARACHI: Inflation in the country this week stood at 10.50%, with prices of 17 essential commodities rising, according to a recent report by the Bureau of Statistics.
According to details, a report released by the Bureau of Statistics said that prices of 17 essential commodities rose in the country this week, while 11 declined and 23 remained stable.
“In one week, a 20 kg bag of flour became expensive by Rs 34.” According to the report, the price of sugar, yogurt and potatoes has gone up by Rs 2 this week, chicken by Rs 20, and bananas by Rs 4 per dozen.
It may be recalled that in the data report released by the Statistics Agency on June 21, it was stated that in the first 11 months of the financial year 2020, the production of large scale manufacturing decreased by 10%, while in the eleven months of the same year, paper and board manufacturing increased by 2.12%.
